Happy New Year: Cheers to a Renewed and Expanded Year of Mindset Evolution

As I sit here overlooking the Miami skyline on this hot yet beautiful first day of 2023, I am overwhelmed with gratitude, peace, and a heart full of worship. 2022 was enlightening, tragic, and full of astonishing surprises. I learned so much about myself, but most importantly, I learned so much more about God and my life's purpose. If you don't know already, mindset has been one of my main areas of focus for the last several years.

As a kid and young adult, I heard and read Romans 12:2 a lot, which states, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." It wasn't until I was older and fully emerged in the throes of adulting that the words brought on a new understanding. I knew guarding my mind was important, but I thought it was just focused on the "enemy's attacks." You know, the stuff you learn from sermons in church.

Then, the meaning expanded after reading this quote by Erma Bombeck. I realized I needed an expansive mindset to tap into and utilize all the gifts God has given me. Using every gift would reveal more of my path and put me on track to living a more fulfilled and purposeful life.

I was unprepared for what would be revealed next in my mindset journey. While in prayer and worship, these words slipped out of my mouth, and life has never been the same, "Lord, help me to see myself the way you see me." From then on, my mindset has expanded, shifted, and elevated in ways only God can explain. I fully understand my limited human capabilities in understanding God's mindset. Still, I am even more excited about what God will allow me to understand, explore, and experience.

If you're curious and want more as we enter this new year, join me on this journey of a renewed and expanded year of mindset evolution. Whatever you're praying about, think and believe BIGGER! Being meek and humble in your prayers won't serve you this year. Note this is not about prosperity or the hoarding of material accumulation. This is about having the mindset of God. If material wealth is God's plan for you, I am happy for you. I am equally excited for you if that's living in the countryside in a small village in France and teaching local students. Nothing is too hard, too simple, or too grand for God.

I am rooting and praying for you all!

Cheers to the New Year!
